Recently, China has annouced that it will export first 5th gen Shenyang J-35 fighter jets to Pakistan amid rising tension with India. China is helping Pakistan modernize its air force. Pakistan’s main rival is India, which has been upgrading its own air force with Rafale jets from France and possibly other advanced aircraft. If India has better technology, Pakistan might feel the need to keep up. The J-35 being a stealth fighter could give Pakistan an edge in terms of radar evasion and combat capabilities. Another angle is the geopolitical strategy. China and Pakistan are part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), which is a part of China’s Belt and Road Initiative. Strengthening military ties could be a way to secure their investments in the region, especially with India’s opposition to CPEC. Also, countering India’s influence in South Asia and the Indian Ocean region is a common goal for both China and Pakistan. China says, it will send multiple J-35 and J-20 fighter jets to pakistan amid rising india’s potential invasion of PoK (Pakistan Occupied Kashmir) and India’s involvements in Balochstan to break Pakistani integral part including Balochistan and Waziristan. Recently, Dassault Rafale stock market crashes to 12% globally after Chinese J-10c and JF-17 shot down multiple Indian-French Dassault Rafale jet amid India-Pak conflicts of Pahalgam Terrorists attacks. The China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is a flagship BRI project. Enhancing Pakistan’s airpower could protect infrastructure and deter regional instability, particularly near Balochistan or the Indian Ocean. The potential transfer of China’s J-35 stealth fighter jets to Pakistan can be analyzed through several strategic, geopolitical, and military lenses, though it is important to note that no official confirmation of such a transfer exists as of now. It has recently been reported that Pakistani JF-17 has destroyed one unit of Russian S-400 but this is not confirmed yet, still Russian S-400 is considered the best air defense system even today. France’s Rafale and Russian Almaz-Antey corporation stock market also crashes amid news comes that Chinese JF-17 destroys Indian-Russian S400 defense system.

Is Pakistan getting J-35 from China? or Is China transferring Shenyang J-35 to destroy Rafale, Su-57 & S-400?

Pakistan’s infrastructure and pilot training for fifth-gen fighters would require significant investment, potentially limiting immediate deployment in multiple disputed terrotery of Pakistan-China corridor. On the other hand, Pakistan’s army is going to get the first consignment of the world’s largest Chinese J-35, due to which India’s tension has increased a lot. China’s transfer of J-35s to Pakistan remains speculative, the rationale aligns with longstanding Sino-Pakistani strategic priorities: countering India, securing mutual economic interests, and advancing defense industrialization. Any such deal would mark a significant escalation in regional military capabilities, likely prompting reactions from India and other stakeholders. The transfer of J-35 to Pakistan could signal Sino-Pakistani readiness to counter collective threats, such as the U.S.-India strategic partnership or the Quad (U.S., India, Japan, Australia). An export deal with Pakistan could serve as a “showcase” for the J-35, aiding China’s ambitions to compete with U.S. and Russian stealth fighters in the global arms market. As per Chinese media, China and Pakistan sharing 6th Gen J-36 and J-50 fighter jet’s technology to maximize production of 6th gen fighter jets in Karachi and Lahore.
