Houthi air defense system R-27T could shoot down an F-22 raptor and NASA’s X-43 in Red Sea

Recently, in an important statement by the Yemeni armed forces it has been said that the Yemeni-Russian made R-27T air defense system, after the American F-16, can also shoot down the F-22 Raptor in the air inside the Red Sea. Houthi says, The R-27T air-to-air missile, part of the R-27 (AA-10 Alamo) family, is launched from aircraft like the Sukhoi Su-27 family, MiG-29, and MiG-31. It can be launched in single or salvo mode and is designed to engage targets within the seeker’s field of view, making it effective against a wide range of aerial threats. Recently the Yemeni armed forces have claimed that the Houthis and Yemeni army are now working together on the R-27T air defense system which can shoot down American F-16, F-15e and F-22 in the air in the future and can be launched from Russian Su-31 and Su-27. A new system built by pro-Houthi air defense personnel, which are originally R-27T air to air missiles guided by FLIR ULTRA 8500 Turrets and launched from APU-60 and P-12 launch rails, succeeded in damaging two Saudi F-15s.

Therefore, Houthis have shown 100% accuracy in shooting down Saudi Arabian and American F-16 and F-15e in the air several times, which makes them capable of shooting down Israeli F-16 and American F-22 Raptors in the air in future. The R-27T is a weapon used by fighter jets, while fighter jets themselves are the platforms that carry and utilize such weapons, along with their own inherent capabilities for aerial combat.  Recently, CENTCOM said, Iranian-Russia defense equipement yemen damaging American interest and American aircrafts or Fighter Jets.

It has recently been reported that Houthi, Russia and Iran together are making the R-27T air defense more powerful than the S-400 and S-500 so that in the future the Yemeni armed forces can cause maximum damage to the US and Israel. Houthi’s R-27T air defense has not only posed a threat to the US air force and aircraft but also to NASA’s X-43 unmanned hypersonic aircraft. But now it has been told that by 2027 the Yemeni armed forces and Iran together will develop the most advanced Air Defense in the world due to which the US will not be able to find a place in the Red Sea for many years.
